How should my source material (BILD) be prepared?

Your film should be in maximum resolution and in a format that is as lossless as possible. We will be happy to advise you on the selection of the right export format for your film.

How should my source material (TON/AUDIO) be prepared?

he sound (stereo, 3.0 / 5.1 / etc.) should be available in 24 bit 48KHz. We can extract the sound directly from your master or you can provide it directly to us as a WAV file. Please note that depending on the project and or funding, an audio description (Mono WAV) may be required for storage in the Federal Archives, which you must also provide to us.

How should my source material (SUBTITLE) be prepared?

All subtitles should be available as Interop / SMPTE XML or SRT. Please note that for storage in the Federal Archives, depending on the project and or funding, a barrier-free subtitle version may also be delivered.

What does a DCDM consist of?

A DCDM should always be created from a master (DSM / Digital Source Master) with the highest possible quality.

Essential components of a DCDM for the Federal Archives

  • Image as TIFF single image sequence in 2K or 4K (16 bit uncompressed in color space XYZ / cinema color space)
  • Sound/audio as uncompressed mono WAV files (Mono / Stereo / 5.1 / Barrier-free version / etc.) in 24 bit 48KHz
  • Subtitles in XML format
